Dr. Pavan Rajanahalli

Stem Cell Biologist

Dr. Pavan is our scientific consultant and stem cell expert on all things related to umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells, cellular and molecular biology. Dr. Pavan graduated from the University of Dayton with a Ph.D in Biology and also earned a Masters of Science in Applied Genetics from Bangalore University. As an accomplished scientist and published researcher, he specializes in stem cell culture, mesenchymal stem cells (human umbilical cord stem cells) neural stem cells, 3D spheroid and organoid cultures, as well as cell and molecular biology. He is a professor of biology and genetics at The University of Tampa.

Dr. Pavan’s involvement with the community includes being extensively involved in reviewing travel scholarships, abstracts for oral and poster presentations, enhancing undergraduate participation and proposing professional development sessions for the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) and Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).
When not teaching or in the lab, Dr. Pavan enjoys traveling, playing racquetball competitively, and spending time with his wife and dogs.
