Dr. Jason De Luigi DO, MHSA
Regenerative Medicine Orthopedic Sports Medicine Physician
Dr. De Luigi is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Sports Medicine, Brain Injury Medicine, Pain Medicine, and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. Dr. De Luigi served for over 6 years as the Chair of the Department of PM&R and Medical Director for Sports Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. He significantly expanded the department and advanced Regenerative Medicine and Wellness by securing funding, expanding facilities, and adding new equipment to include platelet rich plasma, bone marrow, adipose tissue, acupuncture, reiki, and osteopathic manual medicine. He also established four new medical and therapy treatment locations in Arizona (two in Tempe, one in Scottsdale, and another in San Tan).
Before his time at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. De Luigi founded the ACGME-accredited Sports Medicine fellowship and various centers at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar NRH and served as Program Director for the PM&R Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His military service includes two deployments in Operation: Iraqi Freedom.

Dr. De Luigi has extensive experience with professional athletes and sports teams, serving as the Chief Medical Advisor for the American 7s Football League (A7FL), Medical Director for the EXOS NFL Draft Combine Training Center, the Head Team Physician of the Washington Wizards, Medical Director and Head Team Physician of the Washington Mystics, Team Physician for Arizona Coyotes, DC United, Washington Spirit, and Phoenix Rising FC. He is recognized internationally in Adaptive Sports Medicine, having served over a decade as Medical Director for the U.S. Paralympic Adaptive Alpine Ski Team and Para-Snowboarding Team, and authored two textbooks on Adaptive Sports Medicine.
His expertise extends to concussion management, with roles in various work groups and committees, including the NBA Concussion Committee and the AAPM&R STEP Concussion Certificate program. He has also been involved in Running Medicine and served as Medical Director for numerous major events and teams.
Academically, Dr. De Luigi is a former Professor at Georgetown University, an Associate Professor at Mayo Clinic, and an Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University. He is Editor-In-Chief for Alternative & Integrative Medicine and Musculoskeletal Section Editor for multiple journals.
