About Dr. Travis Whitney
Travis Whitney, NMD, MSc, MSAc is a Board Certified Naturopathic Medical Doctor and Chinese Medicine practitioner that specializes in Regenerative, Functional, Naturopathic, and Chinese Medicine. Dr. Whitney graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, OR with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Masters of Science in Integrative Medicine Research, as well as Masters of Acupuncture from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.
He is one of the leading experts in regenerative medicine and was recently featured as one of the leading regenerative medicine experts around the globe in the docu-series Pain Revealed. He has treated hundreds of patients from across the country successfully with common chronic pain conditions such as knee, back, and shoulder pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and nerve pains (peripheral neuropathy), and autoimmune conditions, with techniques such as Stem Cell therapies, exosomes, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and dextrose prolotherapy. In addition to helping patients heal and improve their life’s, Dr. Whitney trains doctors from all over the country on how to practice and perform regenerative medicine.
Dr. Whitney's practice focuses on stem cell therapy, primary care, pain, bio-identical hormone replacement, pain management, stress/anxiety/depression, acute and chronic disease, SIBO, diabetes, weight management, heart disease, and physical/sports medicine.
Dr. Whitney's clinical research thesis was a clinical trial on the effects meditation has on neuroplasticity, the brains ability to 're-wire' itself and grow new brain cell connections. He's also written on topics such as obesity and insulin resistance in third-world countries, the effects of cortisol on brain function, as well as other health related topics.
At NUNM Dr. Whitney was trained as a primary care physician and medical researcher, learning several modalities, such as clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and pharmaceuticals, for multiple conditions. Dr. Whitney did his Chinese medicine training at the Phoenix Institute for Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA) and was trained in regenerative medicine through the American Osteopathic Association Prolotherapy and Regenerative Medicine, Boston Biolife and under Dr. David Milroy, a practitioner of prolotherapy for over 15 years.
Loving activity and nature, Dr. Whitney has spent years in a variety of sports and fitness programs. These include bodybuilding, powerlifting, tai chi, boxing, MMA, volleyball, yoga and many more. While serving as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer, Dr. Whitney was exposed to a variety of training methods to increase muscle growth and cardiovascular health. Dr. Whitney is a firm believer that our spiritual energy plays a vital role in our health. In his early twenties, he found Qi Gong meditation through his martial arts practice. He discovered its benefits on anxiety, stress reduction, physical pain, focus, learning, and well-being in general. While earning his Bachelor's degrees in Psychology, he gave presentations in Neurotheology, discussing the brains relationship with spirituality. Dr. Whitney incorporates energy healing such as meditation, stress reduction, and chakra opening into his healing that provides a comprehensive approach to healing that teaches you how to take control of your health.
Dr. Whitney was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach, FL and when not practicing he enjoys exercise, meditation, cooking, hiking, traveling, reading, playing guitar (currently studying classical guitar), and studying all things for health and healing.
